Paul Selbitschka, Owner of Precision Tune Auto Care was deep in plans for opening his new location on Lake Drive in Lino Lakes, MN, and knew he wanted to incorporate a dynamic LED display into his new outdoor monument sign. He wanted to be able to directly control his own digital marketing platform to better engage with the vehicles passing by, as well as recruit new employees for his highly rated and growing business.
During their initial site analysis, Think Digital Signs discovered the existing sign code limited the dynamic LED display (or Electronic Message Center) area to only 20 square feet. After considering the speed limit and lines-of-site among other factors, Think recommended putting the project on hold and working with the city to change the sign code to allow an increase to the size of the EMC for safer and more effective messaging.
The Think Digital Signs team went to work communicating with City Planners and Council members on Selbitschka’s behalf with supporting documentation, discussions, and multiple meetings.
Working together Selbitschka and Think Digital Signs presented at Public City Council meetings and were successful gaining agreement from the city to increase the permittable dynamic display area 60% by way of an Amendment to the Lino Lakes Sign Code.
