When Think Digital Signs met with the team at S & S Development Group, they were looking to update their existing sign that had served them for many years.
S & S was generally familiar with digital display signs, but did not yet have any hands-on experience with how they worked or the interface platform required. They were looking to learn more about LED Electronic Message Center technology, as well as what was possible for their Ridgedale Office Center in Minnetonka, MN, which has a great location near Ridgedale Shopping Center with exposure to the high traffic levels on Highway 394 and the 494 loops.
In addition to updating the sign, a priority was to provide cost-effective on-site advertising for their tenants to reach the high traffic volumes on Interstate 394 at below-market rates, making the office space more valuable to S & S and their Tenants.
A high-resolution full-color 10mm LED Electronic Message Center that maximized the Dynamic Display Area allowed by city sign code was selected.
A big installation hurdle was locating the sign on the frontage that had virtually no room for the sign due to setback requirements. The Think Digital Signs team went to work on options, ultimately gaining approval by way of an expansion permit (similar to a variance for setback).
Love the sign and enjoyed working with Think Digital Signs and their team. Think helped us end-to-end, starting with comprehensive information that helped guide us through the process of discovering what was possible, the technology and what it could mean for us and our tenants. They produced great design work, even working through complications and meeting with the city for permitting and challenging site conditions.
